New Words to Live By
Bonjour Rich People,
It’s my 33rd birthday!
Because I am wise AF now, I wanted to share 33 things I learned in 33 years.
Here it goes! Share this with a friend if IT MOVES YOU!
- Do the rotten things first every day.
- Have a money date each month.
- When your income increases, try to keep your expenses the same.
- Be nice when you look in the mirror.
- Talk about money shamelessly with your friends.
- When in doubt, take a bath.
- Save a damn emergency fund.
- Move on from people without guilt.
- Say no to weddings (send a gift instead.)
- Have some fun with fashion. Life is too short.
- It’s not about if they like you, it’s about if you like them.
- It doesn’t get better. But you do!
- Calories never count when you’re out for dinner with fabulous people you love.
- Happiness is a habit.
- Nearly every glamorous, wealthy, successful career woman you envy now started out as some kind of schlepp. Where you start from doesn’t matter. Just start.
- You don’t need to know everything about stocks to invest. Just buy low-cost index funds.
- Don’t use men to get what you want in life – – get it for yourself.
- Watch your tone when you’re talking to people. Grr gets Grr!!
- You can have it all but probably not all at once.
- Renting your home is chic. Even Mrs. Dow Jones does it.
- Unclench your jaw, soften your shoulders and take a damn breath.
- If you are doing all the talking, you are boring somebody! Listen.
- Tip well.
- Automate your finances.
- Go on trips by yourself.
- The answer will present itself if you get silent, tune in and listen.
- Learn to love negotiating your salary.
- Max out your Roth.
- If you work hard, the hard work rewards you.
- Get back to people fast.
- Act as if it’s impossible to fail.
- If you’re afraid of it, you must do it.
- Good girls go to heaven. Bad girls go EVERYWHERE!
