How NOT to Splurge on Fall Trends

I asked you guys what fall trends you were lusting over (see answers below) and there was SO much overlap. Basically, we all want barn jackets, ballerina flats, wide-leg jeans and suede. And... red light skincare devices & mouth tape lol.

Yep- there's a lot of PRESSURE to buy things right now so, how do we avoid spending on trends and focus on buying things we actually need/ are worth it/ we can afford?

There's nothing wrong with spending money! I do it every day lol. You just have to know where to cap it/ what you can afford. I like to set an amount in my monthly budget for shopping. I will also build this category up over a few months so I can swing a bigger ticket item.
Use the Money Book for help! The non-monthly expenses tab will be your friend.

I try to wait at least 24 hours before I purchase anything (usually 72!) That way I can assess the purchase in a non-emotional way. It will truly change your life.

Get out your crystal ball & ask yourself- are you going to be happy you bought this thing in a week? A month? A year? Decide the value of a purchase by determining the long-term value of it. This helped me focus on fewer, nicer pieces.
HAPPY FALL! xoxo,
